The Mayor was the first place winner of the Chili competition held by the Saylorville Marina and the Des Moines Sail and Power Squadron.

Of course I think his plan was to make his chili so hot that you didn't have any taste buds left to sample the others Wink

Actually it was very good chili and not too spicy that it sacrificed flavor

Mayor, If it's not top secret, I think your recipe would be good to have on this thread.

I think there was 13 or so. What was amazing is each one had a distinctly different flavor.

I think it was more like 40! They kept blowing fuses because of all the crockpots and the one end of the dock was sinking under all the weight. Yea ... thats it ... 40 entered. Big Grin

I was just wondering......with all those entries, were there 2nd & 3rd place winners, or did all the votes just go to The Mayor??

Out of character for me I know but I was being sarcastic, there were 13 entries. Connie won 2nd place and I missed who won 3rd.

Cereal Killer Mama? Is it safe to come around here?


I like to start my exercising off slow and taper from there.

Actually, Mrs. Capn Crunch placed 2nd and Connie placed 3rd.

Both of these chilies were very good and had good flavor without using hot spices. I have to give Mrs. Crunch alot of credit since she labored on her chili while suffering from a ruptured disk.

Needed to make this correction to be sure I stay out of the doghouse. (If you've ever seen my dog, you would know that there just wouldn't be enough room for the two of us in there Wink)
