I would like to go to the river for a long weekend, probably Dubuque and north. Can't find much info on where to launch(safe place to leave the truck for 3 days) stay, eat... We are newbee's when it comes to running a river. Any info is good. Thanks

The Landing is a fun place to stay in Guttenberg. Weather you trailer or need a place to stop on the river.

It’s an old button factory that they have turned into a hotel. You can walk, 3 blocks, to bars and restaurants. There is a small marina and ramp there. And I felt safe leaving the trailer there over night. We had a ball the year we stayed there.

Commander05 goes every year. So send him a quick message.

Thanks for the info. We put the boat on the Des Moines river last sunday for a little taste of the river. Got into some shallow areas and didn't like that so we are a little intimidated by the rivers but looks like so much fun. Don't get me wrong I like Saylorville but the scenery looks same. Love tying up with Jeff, Kyle and especially Jammin so that makes Saylorville ok... from what I remember. Wink

thanks

As long as we have each other. We'll never run out of problems.
