Hi folks,

I recently purchased a weather station for my own amusement and enjoyment. I have it set up at the Casa, which happens to be very close to Cherry Glen.

I have made the weather report available on the internet at the following URL:

http://www.howardweb.org/weather/weather.html

Please feel free to reference it before you go boating, or any other time. I hope it provides some good value for you.

Please note, the temps when sunny read high. I am in the process of creating a shelter for the sensor that will fix that issue.

Also, there are some very handly links on the page to information about Saylorville itself.

Please let me know what you think. Big Grin

Jim

You're going to have to explain to me how that works. Over a couple drinks ofcourse. :-)

I like to start my exercising off slow and taper from there.

Can do. So far it works pretty well. I picked up some of the pieces today to make a pagoda of sorts to house the temp sensor. Should make the temp readings much more accurate.

Report from the water is it still looks like crap out there, so may not float again until Saturday. It looks like the water level will peak tomorrow sometime, and then start going down again, so that will help to clear things up quicker.

The weather station is doing well. I have expanded the page to have satellite, radar, forecast, and other links on it:

But the real reason for this post, I have noticed that somebody put up a weather station on mile long bridge. I sure would like to know who, and how to get that information. That is PERFECT placement for what the conditions on the water will be like, especially wind.

Anyone know whose it is, or where the data can be viewed?

For anyone that may be following along, the weather station took a hit, but is back online. I had to replace the anemometer. it is now using a cup style instead or a propeller style.

As impressed as I am with anyone who can use the word anemometer. I am getting a "DNS lookup error" when I try the link.

I think the weather station on the bridge is the DOT.

That is odd... still getting a DNS error? Yup the one on the bridge is for wind only, and is DOT in coordination with Iowa State University if I recall.
